An, at times, lifetime-esque story in the “not the man I married” genre, this one is. elevated by its queer spin and a fearless performance by Brittany Allen. It hits many of the genre, doing them well, but mot exceptionally, at least until it comes to the finale. An impressively photographed sequence of cleaning up after a crime is sullied by calling to mind Misery, another film in a very nearly adjacent genre.
