Publisher's summary

We all come to a point in our lives where we finally ask the ever-looming question, "Is this all there is?" And most of us coast along afterwards, just accepting that the answer to that question is probably, "Yes, this is it." Sometimes, though, we're lucky. Sometimes we run into the right people at the right time.

Ryan and Jennifer are at that point in their marriage, asking that question. Luckily, tonight at a friend's holiday party, they're about to run into those very right people at exactly the right time. Bruce and Paige have successfully crossed the Rubicon into the realm of "what else there is." They've discovered delights and a way of living that Ryan and Jennifer have only ever dreamed about.

Their secret? Bruce and Paige are swingers. And very soon now, thanks to a chance meeting and a new friendship, Ryan and Jennifer will close their eyes, clasp hands, and jump into the deep end of life, exploring the untold wonders of sexuality. Hedonistic pleasures that they can't even fathom yet, threesomes and sex parties and a deep connection with friends and with each other. The swinging lifestyle.

Today is the day they proclaim: "There is more." Today is the day they change their lives.

HATED JENNIFER!😡😡😡😡

Jennifer was a BITCH! Let's face it, if Ryan had been the one that got all of the action and Jennifer had the low self esteem and couldn't even get the time of day, the author would have made it perfectly clear he was an ass hole and made him out to be the one in the wrong. So why is it alright for Jennifer to do the same thing and be seen as the victim?
I have a big problem with the double standards implied in this book. Making Jennifer seem so innocent and Ryan so guilty only enforces the stereotypes that men are always jerks!
Jennifer doesn't take any responsibility for her own actions towards her husband.
I felt so bad for Ryan and hoped he could find the strength to divorce that bitch of a wife and find someone who would love him just as he is.

Great story and very instructive

What did you like best about this story?

Set rules and expectations before you swing. Have lots of discussion on feelings.

What does Cooper S. Beckett and Kat Stark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Sincerity in the characters. I believed the characters were modeled after real people.

Any additional comments?

Do a Part two. Continue the story.

Honest

Jennifer and Ryan are wondering if their marriage is all it can be. Is that all there is? When they meet Paige and Bruce at a friend's Christmas party and discover the couple swing, they are intrigued and make contact with them and enter the lifestyle.

I enjoyed the story. I liked the sex scenes but I especially liked that the problems of living the swinging lifestyle were not neglected. it was good to see that poor communication between partners as well as others being played with can mess up what started out as fun and was good. Jealousy rears its head and Jennifer and Ryan need to work it out as well as problem behaviors that are keeping trust out of their relationship. I liked that Noah, Ryan's friend, gave him a good verbal ass whipping when needed. I was glad how the story ended. I hope to read more of this couple.

Deliciously Sexy Tale of Two New Swingers

Would you consider the audio edition of A Life Less Monogamous to be better than the print version?

I would consider it to be better because Kat and Cooper do such an amazing job bringing the characters the life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jennifer is my favorite character because her emotions are so raw. Cooper captures all the little subtleties of her interactions with others particularly reactions to touch. She is brave and takes control of her life in ways other women in long term marriages can only aspire to.

What does Cooper S. Beckett and Kat Stark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

There is an extra dimension of personality you get from the characters when hearing their experiences through the voices of Cooper and Kat.

Any additional comments?

This book does an excellent job portraying what it is like to step into the new, exciting world that is swinging.

Hits great points and fantastic insight

Generally loved the book. Dialogue was meh, and it definitely was a reasonable attempt to hit all the basic problems associated with the topic. Well worth the read.

Worth the listen

I chose to listen to this audio book because it was included in Audible's Romance package (now Audible Escape.) I figured what did I have to lose? Somewhat to my surprise, it's actually quite well written and narrated. It was adapted from what started out as a screenplay, and the two narrators do a good job with the voices in their respective parts. The whole story seemed like it was quite close to what the reality of starting in this lifestyle could actually be like, written by someone with experience. The book deals at length with the characters' emotions, the impact of their activities on their marriage, and how jealousy can come into play with all these non-monogamous interactions.

If your curious about this path, I think you could do far worse than listening to this audio book.
