I cannot explain why this “film” is absolutely stunning, mesmerizing, heartbreaking, audacious, and unforgettable. Nor can I explain exactly what it is. Melding a motivational speaker, Mike Birbiglia stage show, the greatest cart magician you’ve ever seen (for me it’s Ricky Jay), and the most moving philosophical discussion of identity, humanism, and how we view each other gets us part of the way to In and of Itself. The only way you will understand all of the above will be to flip on Hulu immediately and watch it. Put your phones and tablets down, dim the lights, and have 90 minute experience. Un-fucking-believable.
