With the exception of a strangely thought out moment near the finale, (that parallels an almost exact strange choice in 2018’s Halloween) this is pretty much exactly the update/sequel the film needed, and I truly hope I will restart the franchise again. The idea of Candyman as an endemic and recurring horror is really great, and takes the undercurrents from the original film and draws them to and beyond their natural conclusions.
