Take Assault on Precinct 13, Gremlins, and Juno, and blend them, and you get Snatchers. It’d be right at home on a double bill with Night of the Creeps. The performances are all engaging, but lead Mary Nepi is exceptional, delivering absurdity perfectly. The real life horrors of unwanted pregnancy are mythologized here when our lead gets pregnant overnight courtesy so me ancient sex aliens. The premise is silly, but is played so matter of fact that you can’t help but be charmed and won over. I do wish the budget was a bit higher because the climax feels a bit muted, but that’s really my only complaint. Check this,out asap!
