Last Night in Soho, 2021 – ★★★★

Absolutely gorgeous, a new wave giallo that would sit comfortably in Argento’s oeuvre but has far more of a sense of humor about itself. The mood setting is glorious and seems to abruptly shift into final-act-mode when it begins to explain everything. Could it have been vaguer? Sure. But stacked with great performances and boasting Diana Rigg’s final, scored with an amazing collection of songs, and looking eversomuch like a confident director’s thesis, this is one for the ages.
