I'll give the film credit for atmosphere, which is enveloping and oppressive. That said, there are absolutely zero unique ideas on display here. This is what you get when you add up The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, I Spit on Your Grave, Midsommar, Heredity, add a really whiny & doughy toxic male. To be absolutely clear, just because you call yourself out on ripping off so many movies doesn't mean you can get away with ripping them off. You've still done it. The twist is rather nonsensical and poorly explained and definitely detracts when you know how films are made.
