The Sting II, 1983 – ★★★

Enjoyable, if sloppy, sequel that should’ve never been a direct sequel. Hell, call it The Sting II with new characters. Swapping out the tremendous leads Newman, Redford, and Shaw was a bad plan from jump, even if we got a great performance from Jackie Gleason, an icy, downplayed, Oliver Reed, and wonderful-as-always Terri Garr. This one, unlike the original, never let you feel in on the grift.
