Random Acts of Violence, 2019 – ★★½

This film definitely has something to say about the codependent nature of violence in the world and violence in the media. Unfortunately that something has already been said many times, and while there is definitely some creativity here, and surprisingly good tension building from Jay Baruchel, it apes too much of Hannibal, Dexter, and Misery, and dwells way too long on repressed memories. Stylish, very gory, but ultimately quite hollow.
