What the fuck did I just watch? It was seriously like some sort of fever dream that combined Evil Dead and old Doctor Who and Little Monsters with both a heavy metal song and a closing credits rap about the plot. It’s truly hard to believe this wasn’t made in 1987. The gore effects are plentiful and practical, PG is amusing, the kids are…something. The girl playing Mimi has many great moments, but so many over the top ones that just don’t land. It sometimes felt like we were in the middle of a much bigger saga that was unwilling to share the details with us. But that’s okay, cuz we got brain in a jar man, and weird robot bucket head full of body parts. Just…must be seen. But probably won’t be believed.
